This is a remote position.

Positioned as a vital link between frontline consulting and the core accounting function, this role ensures the financial integrity of a scaling international travel entity. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the reconciliation pipeline, transforming complex booking data into accurate financial records within a high-output, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Liaison: Serve as the primary intermediary between consultants and the accounting team to ensure seamless data flow and process alignment.

  • Data Validation: Meticulously verify all consultant-generated invoices and booking data against internal systems, specifically Tourplan, to maintain data hygiene.

  • System Management: Oversee the accurate loading of validated invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all entries reflect real-time operational activity.

  • Complex Reconciliations: Perform detailed, high-volume reconciliations across supplier invoices, client files, and internal bookings to safeguard against financial leakage.

  • Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve financial inconsistencies by collaborating directly with the consulting team.

  • Process Optimisation: Support the broader team in refining operational workflows to reduce manual errors and improve overall turnaround times.

  • Record Integrity: Maintain secure, organised, and up-to-date electronic financial records in compliance with organisational standards.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric with a strong foundation in Mathematics and Accounting.

  • 2–3 years of proven experience in a dedicated finance, administration, or reconciliation-heavy role.

  • Strong computer literacy, with specific expertise in Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail and accuracy while managing high workloads under pressure.

  • Highly organised with the discipline to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fully remote setup.

  • Professional and proactive verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Previous experience within the travel or tourism sector.
