Elementary Music Teacher

About the Role
The Elementary Music Teacher will inspire young learners through creative, engaging music instruction that builds foundational skills, supports artistic expression, and nurtures a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. The teacher will deliver a well‑structured international curriculum while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative school culture.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate music lessons for elementary-grade students
Introduce students to musical concepts including rhythm, melody, dynamics, notation, and basic music theory
Teach singing, movement, and the use of classroom instruments to support musical understanding
Develop students’ performance skills through ensemble work, rehearsals, and concerts
Integrate technology and creative tools to enhance music learning and student engagement
Assess student progress using a range of formative and summative methods
Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages confidence, creativity, and participation
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide events
Contribute to the planning and execution of school performances, assemblies, and cultural celebrations
Maintain positive communication with parents and contribute to the wider school community
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field
Teaching qualification/license appropriate for elementary education
Experience teaching music at the elementary level, preferably in an international school setting
Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices
Ability to teach a wide range of musical skills, including vocal and instrumental instruction
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Nice to Have
Experience with international curricula
Proficiency in using educational technology and music software
Background in organizing student performances or extracurricular music programs
Additional certifications or training in music specialties (e.g., Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze)
